If you are female, have a bad back, or are simply getting older, the purchase of luggage that only weighs a little over 3 pounds is a gift. However, if you are a continual air or road warrior, go for a heavier, more sturdy, bag. I have some substantial luggage with a lifetime warranty. However, after 3 back operations, I am only using IT Luggage (or products similar in weight). Frankly, I am amazed at the progress that light weight luggage has made over recent years. Get the lightest (IT) and keep it on board. Want to have your luggage tossed below? Go for substantial stuff and forget about saving 2 or 3 pounds of weight. Lighter luggage is rather like an old Italian sports car. Do not expect it to last 6 years and take care of the stuff while you use it.

This is a cute smallish carryon, but I spent hours researching in order to find the tiniest one possible, was happy to see this one, and ordered it, only to discover that the advertised dimensions are the interior dimensions, not the exterior. I don't know if this is typical of luggage or not, but when they are advertising how light it is, how it will fit in small places, etc., you'd think they would realise some of us are looking at the exterior dimensions. The interior dimensions are meaningless when it comes to fitting under the seat in front of you. So, why call it a 16" carry on, when in reality it's closer to 19"? Unfortunately, I'm in Canada and had to drive 50 miles across the border to pick it up, so I guess I'm stuck with it. For the future, I would like to know if this kind of measurement is standard, or if they were trying to pull the wool over my eyes, so to speak.

It was a gift for my son-in-law who goes on overnight business trip all the time. He loved the weight and size. It was a hit.
