Handle malfuction
By Hyghlandyr
Took this luggage on it's maiden voyage on my business trip. To reach my destination, i needed to take two trains, two planes, & a rental car. About to board the second train, the top handle popped!! Disappointed, but had to move on, so I used the side handle. About to board the second plane, the side handle popped!! Now I'm embrassed. flipped the carry-on upsidedown and used the rubber stand as a handle while walking thru the airplane isle to find my seat. The pull handle worked fine, no problems there. Interior is well made and I love the widebody size.I have use Travelpro luggage for years and never a problem until now. Travelpro is a good company and makes great luggage. which earns them a 5 rating. But I think the design of the Anthem handle is flawed. That's why I'm giving a 3 rating. It's interesting how those two handles make a huge difference in your traveling experience from comfortable to awkward.I should give koodoos to Altman Luggage Co, who I brought the carry-on luggage from thru Amamzon. I emailed them about my situation when I returned from my business trip. In two days, a new one was at my home. Awesome customer service!!

Basic bag but works well
By SierraSteve
Anthem is the budget line from Travelpro. So much so they do not include it on their website (last time I checked.) The materials and workmanship are clearly inferior to other Travelpro products. I bought this because it was cheap. My intention is to never check this bag so I was not worried too much about wear and tear from baggage handlers (with the exception of gate checks on small commuter planes.) What drew me to this bag besides the price was the size. They took 2 inches from the length and added it to the width (the same size is available in Crew 8 I believe.) This made sense to be since the biggest problem I have had with 22 inch bags is fitting them in the overhead. This bag fits perfectly, wheels in, even on older planes like American's S-80's. Capacity is big. A 7 day trip would be no problem. I packed for a 5 day trip very easily. It has a 2 inch expansion zipper so you can easily get more in. It should still fit in the overhead bin easily if the expansion is used. It also has a suiter compartment which, while a nice idea, is very basic and not as well designed as other suiters I have looked at. Still, I did pack a heavy sport coat and 2 dress shirts in it.The only other problem I had with the case is that it arrived with a scuff mark on the front. Since the box was still factory sealed I assume it happened during packing. I though about returning it, but figured I would probably scuff it up on one of my trips anyway so no need to make a big deal about it.Overall, I like the size and recommend to everyone to look at these new dimensions. But it is a cheap bag and if that bothers you then look at something else.***Update February 14, 2012***I have had this bag for a year now. I did a lot of coast to coast flying with it and it has performed well. No problems with the bag itself. My only concern going forward is the wheels. They look like they are getting worn down as a result of rolling over hard concrete/asphalt/cobblestone surfaces. This may not be any different from other bags and it may be years before they fail, but it is something to be aware of.While the cubic capacity of the bag is equal to a 22 inch, I find this bag easier to pack, especially with Rick Steve's or Magellan's packing cubes. The suiter feature, again while basic, is a nice feature that I use on each trip. There are a couple of issues to be aware of. Because of it's width, it may not fit in the aisle of certain planes. It depends on the airline and the plane. It is not an issue rolling through the First/Business sections, but it can be in Coach. You will have to carry it back to your seat then. Also on older 767's (specifically Pre-Merger United aircraft) it will not fit in the overhead bins. The design of the bin is for putting 14" bags on their side, not "wheels in." This bag is just too wide for that.Overall I am happy with this bag.
