5Great Victorinox luggage
By FXYFH
I purchased this bag in Dec 2012 when I found myself "needing" an extra bag for the stuff I acquired over the holiday trip (not my first time using this excuse to justify buying a new bag :)).I was initially looking for the old style carry-on bag with 2 rear wheels, and honestly had a reservation about purchasing this bag due to the spinner-type. While I acknowledge the 4-wheel benefits for larger check-in luggage, I didn't know if the wheels would be more of benefits, i.e. easier to handle, or an overkill, i.e. taking up space due to the construction of the wheels. As we know, we'd like to maximize the luggage's volume real estate due to airlines nickel-and-diming us these days, especially with carry-ons.Given the low price point of this bag (got it when Amazon had a deal for $100-ish), I thought I'd take my chances. While I already have a couple carry-on bags: Travelpro Crew 7 22" and Victorinox Seefeld 22" for reference, I do need a 20" for my international travels. I just returned for my first trip with it, and I think this will be my new best friend for my 1 to 3 night business trips (3 nights is stretching it). Below is a summary of my review.Likes:- Obviously, the good pricing at the time of purchase.- The material and build of the bag do indicate that it's a quality item. While it's not TUMI or Briggs & Riley, it is still a great bag that's definitely above Samsonite quality (and it's toward the higher-end of Victorinox since this brand has different levels of quality in my opinion).- Spinner wheels do make it a lot easier to push. And while at first I thought that the benefit would be minimum for a carry-on, boy I was wrong. If you're a multi-tasker, this bag will help you a lot. Regarding my initial concern above about the space, Victorinox did a really good job putting the wheels in without taking up too much valuable space. If you're contemplating whether the spinner is worth it given the additional space the wheels would take, I'd say don't worry about it.- The "x" (as in 20x) does help and it makes a difference. It also compensates the fact that this is a 20" luggage, and not a 21" or 22". If you're wondering whether this will be too much of a step-down from 22" space-wise, I'd say it IS, but not that much.- External front pockets are great help. My favorite is the little one at the top - it's unlike other luggages' pockets where they're usually flat and your stuff will get squished. The said pocket is shaped in a way that it will hold your items comfortably. It's the best place to put my small items while going through security (cell phone, wallet, watch, belt, etc - you men know what I'm talking about; if you're a female, this probably isn't big enough - heck, even the entire bag isn't big enough :P). Anyhow.. my next favorite pocket is the one between the main compartment and the front top pocket - it's big enough to hold my laptop and 10" tablet. There's a third smaller front pocket with a side opening that I haven't found a good use for - too small for my 10" tablet, but it may fit if you have a 7".Dislike:- "Dislike" is an exaggeration, but a minor thing to note is that due to its shape and center of gravity, if you stuff heavier things in the front pockets (i.e. laptop/tablet, etc) of towards the top, the bag can easily tip to the front.Other notes/considerations:- I read a review on a different website that claimed that this bag doesn't fit on the overhead compartment of a US carrier. From my experience, it fit well (flew United/ex-Continental 737-900). I placed it wheels first, and I still had some room between the bag and the compartment door to put my jacket. Not sure about other US carriers, United's 767 or regional jets, or non-US carriers.- I was also considering the Victorinox Werks Traveler 4.0 20" that was about the same price. I opted to get the Avolve since the Werks doesn't seem to have that much space: it's thinner, not expandable, and narrower/doesn't have the "x" feature (and isn't a spinner, even though this wasn't a requirement for me).- The "expandable" won't give you that much extra room. While other bags typically have 1-2" "all-around" (i.e. all 4 sides) rooms, the only part that's expandable of this bag is the top half. Thus you'll get about 1-2" more room only at the top. May help with an extra underwear or two (more if you're a female or a smaller person ;)). Also refer to the "dislike" above that if you do expand, it'll make this bag more top-heavy and prone to tipping over.- While the handle is average, I personally like it that it's a 2-pillar vs. Victorinox' signature 1-pillar handle. I typically slide my laptop bag there and this model makes it a lot more stable.- There's a tethering strap hidden inside the front pocket. I haven't found a good use yet, but I'm sure I may in the future.Hope this helps!

5fantastic value, quality and design
By Prescott E. Small
We bought this as part of a special price offering before Yule. We replaced a crappy generic piece of luggage and the difference is night and day. This case is solidly constructed, serviceable (you can order replacement parts if needed, but I doubt it.) The case is super well built. The wheels actually roll to well. The case will not sit still if the floor is uneven. The capacity is similar to what we had previously but the distribution is different and I found this one a lot easier to pack and close. The handle moves with great ease and is smartly designed to be operated with 1 hand instead of two like our previous bag.overall I am extremely satisfied having just returned and using this bag. We will be replacing our other luggage with comparable models of this same one.

4Great looking bag
By NMS
This bag is great value, very sturdy, The more square shape makes it very easy to pack. Caution - the size may not qualify for carry on with Delta, but so far seems to be allowed on all other airlines.
