roomy and lightweight
By FFDR
I have Hartmann intensity 27inch luggage, but decide to buy Packcloth for the carry on. The suitcase is overpriced at the retail price, but at the discount price, it is a good deal. Here is what I like and dislike about it:Likes:- light weight: 9 lbs- I love its capacity. It packs a TON! Its size is the max allowed by an airline carry-on. And it is very simple and deep, no unnecessary compartment for jackets, no bulky external pockets, hence no space or weight is wasted for packing. Even w/o expansion, it can easily hold a week's travel. I also have a 22in pathfinder carry-on (weighs 12 lb.), Packcloth packs more, easily.- handle is long, zippers and wheels are super smoothDislikes: it is a cheaper line of Hartmann, and corners are cut.- no hard-plastic feet on the long side of the suitcase to buffer the impact. So when you put the suitcase on the floor before you lay it flat down, the fabric of the long side touches the floor. (The feet on the long side is common on suitcases).- vinyl trim and pulls (not the long handle) that look cheap and get easily scratched. Not sure how much it can sustain the wear and tear in the long run.In short, this carry-on is excellent for casual travelers at discounted price (if you don't care about the jacket compartment). In my view, Khaki color looks better than the black, as it blends in with the vinyl trim/handles better. On the black version, vinyl trim really stands out, and it looks pretty cheap. If hartmann uses leather trim, streamline the design of the pulls, and coordinate the trim/handle color better, then it can be a truly attractive carry on, like a Longchamp.Update: the khaki-colored luggage showed black stains after I checked it in a few times. I think that black would probably hide stains better.

Classic luggage at a reasonable price
By Robert B Doak
It's Hartmann. What is there to say? We are very pleased with the style and features. Hopefully, this is the last luggage we will need to buy.
