I own this bag but also bought a similar bag some years back from eagle creek. Although the bags are generally very good, I just learned that the warranty is a fraud.Here is an email from Eagle creeek's authorized service department describing how their lifetime warranty isn't a lifetime warranty at all, it is for a limited time period which was never specified by the company. I have gone from a big fan of this company's products to a very disappointed customer.Hello JohnIn reviewing the item you returned for warranty it has been determined that the end of its life cycle has been reached. This item holds a lifetime warranty. A lifetime warranty covers manufactures defects for the lifetime of the item.What this means is the product is now beyond it's normal lifetime. The lifetime warranty is for what would be the normal life of the product.Thanks

I bought this Eagle creek luggage for a number of reasons. First, it is relatively light for its size. This is very important to me given the limitations on checked luggage when you travel these days. Secondly, Eagle Creek has a good reputation for durability which is backed up by a no question warranty. I have had more than one piece of luggage destroyed by the airlines. And lastly, it is well made, much of which is from recycled products. The Tarmac 25 is an all around great piece of luggage that has plenty of space for a couple week trip. Could't recommend it more.

I am preparing for a 6 week trip to Europe and usually only take a 22" suitcase and a duffle, however this trip warranted a larger main suitcase, however I am very aware of weight restrictions on many of the European (lower cost) airlines. The Tarmac 25 weighs the same as my old 22" Atlantic as they cleverly use different fabric types in different parts of the bag depending on potential wear points. The zippers and wheels feel very sturdy. Finally, the "no matter what" warranty sealed the deal for me. This size is too large to carry on, so we'll see how it does on it's upcoming maiden journey.
