As a travel nanny, always looking for a great expandable carry on that can handle being checked in. I don't usually pay this much as I know in 18 months I will be looking for "next great bag". But I really needed a 20-22" carry on that could handle being checked in and carry a lot. My clients have large luggage so I try to keep mine small for future car rentals.Pros: Feels rugged and well made and still stylish (I have purple--can find it easy)Packs on both sides. With it expanded I was able to pack:3 skirts with tops, 4 pants (3 lightweight, 1 jean), 6 knee length pants, 3 sweater jackets, 1 lightweight jacket, 1 blouse/jacket, Personals, 4 T's, 4 Sleeveless tops, sunscreen, portable curling iron, 2 bathing suits/coverup, water shoes, 2 sandelsIt wasn't my neatest packing job but it did fit without being stressed.expandable was easy to zipzipper compartment in back could be used for tickets, passports, etc small but good for this.Has two "bumper strips" so hopefully won't get too damaged when walking in cities with sidewalks and curbsHandle actually comes up to 41" from floor to fully extendedPolycarbonate so should flex and material part might keep scuffs downWhen fully packed doesn't sag on bottomZippers look pretty rugged and easy to zip even when expanded.TSA locks (not that I put much stock in locks but at least it is there)Cons: handle takes up room in suitcase but the 3 sags on each side isn't wasted and they put it on the expanded side which is a small improvementzipper compartment on front pretty useless but looks nice!still wish bottom was more rubberized for walking in streetsWill it last? Will see as it makes its way on a journey to Australia and backFits the need for small and packs a lot. Never know if carry ons can take rough handling when checked in but it's a must as you can't carry it on expanded.If bought on a good sale, around $179. That's about $70 more than I wanted to spend but in the past Samsonites have held up well.Will add comments after 3 long trips to see how well it holds up.Great look and with the purple should find it easy!

I used this for my carry on to Europe. You can fit a lot of clothes in. It didn't get as scratched up as I thought it would after 3 weeks and on and off Eurail. Negative: Front pocket is not functional...only can squeeze paper in. If you over stuff the bag you will not get the paper back out.

I will use the carry on tomorrow, so I'm not sure how well it will hold up. It looks like I will be able to pack quite a bit in it - I like the design. Others were right about the front pocket, if that is important to you. Generally I just stick a book or magazine in the front, so it's no problem to me. It rolls very easily, which is very important to me. I wish they made this in a slightly larger size (21" or 22"). My sister bought the Delsey and it really looks like it will hold a LOT, so I may get one next year. However, this one will be easy to spot and the color was not quite as bright as the picture indicates (a good thing!). I like it and would recommend it for short stays or small carry-on.
